Discover the New Assets View in Dynamics 365’s Business Process Catalog Tool

As part of my ongoing mission to make the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Process Catalog more accessible and actionable for consultants and architects, I’m excited to share the latest update to the Business Process Catalog Visual Tool, now fully aligned with the August 2025 release as it is released from Microsoft.

This Power BI-based tool has evolved significantly since its initial launch. If you’ve followed my previous blog posts (May 2024 and July 2025), you’ll know that the tool was originally designed to help users explore the Business Process Catalog through a structured Process View—covering End-to-End processes, Process Areas, individual Processes, and Scenarios.

Now, with the latest update, I’ve introduced a brand-new Assets View, which opens up a whole new dimension of usability. This view allows users to search and filter for:

  • Workshop agendas
  • Supporting documents
  • Configuration guides
  • Tasks and activities

These elements are directly tied to the business processes and mirror the data structure found when importing Azure DevOps Work Items into a DevOps project. This means consultants and solution architects can now quickly locate relevant assets for workshops, implementation planning, and documentation—all within the same visual interface.

The tool also integrates insights from the official Microsoft documentation (About importing the catalog into DevOps), ensuring that users are aligned with best practices and the latest guidance from Microsoft.

Key Highlights of the New Version:

  • Updated to August 2025 Business Process Catalog
  • New “Assets View” for workshop and implementation assets
  • Improved navigation and filtering
    • Filter for Dynamics 365 apps
    • Filter for Implementation assets
  • Designed for F&O consultants and architects
  • Built in Power BI – intuitive and interactive

The visual tool will be shared publicly as Business process Catalog 08-2025 extended, making it freely available to the Dynamics 365 community. While the some of you already work with former version of the process catalog within their project the BPC 05-2025 and the BPC-02-2025 are still available.

This update is part of a broader effort to empower the community with tools that bridge the gap between business process design and real-world implementation. Whether you’re preparing a workshop, configuring a solution, or simply exploring the catalog, this tool is designed to make your work faster, smarter, and more connected.
